In 1997, I decided to quit smoking. I wasn't fond of coughing up 'yellow smurfs' any more. For the next couple of years, I was told what great an accomplishment it was to be able to quit smoking. I started working for the City of San Diego's Public Library system which encouraged me to give college another try. I went back to community college to earn my Associates Degree, but unlike my first attempt at college, an Associates Degree wasn't going to be the end of my scholastic career. Last May, I earned my AS in Business Administration from San Diego City College (see above). This school year I am taking classes that will admit me to San Diego State University in my quest to earn a Bachelors Degree in Information Systems. My friend Scot has been an inspiration for that; My new found self esteem gives me the need to constantly challenge myself. I believe that it really is true, you can do what ever you want to, no matter how old (you think) you are! Never stop learning!
